FROZEN MUZAK

4 dubplates / 4 turntables / 2 mixers / 4 speakers & 1 subwoofer

soundinstallation in collaboration with Kassian Troyer

We were invited by Andreas Mayrhofer & Anatol Bogendorfer to do a soundinstallation as artists in residence for the festival STOP.SPOT at the OK.Centrum für Gegenwartskunst in Linz (A).

The main theme of the festival was "acoustic pollution". We decided to take small cuts from various muzak titles as source material and to create a frozen acoustic space. The digital sound material was cut on dubplates as locked grooves. A standing, slowly evolving & intense cluster filled the space at certain timeslots during the festival.

Production made possible by OK.Centrum für Gegenwartskunst

Dubplates cut by Dubplates & Mastering, Berlin.
